What does Reiki treat?

Reiki TreatmentREIKI is gentle and non-invasive. It is a highly effective natural energy therapy that works on the physical, mental and spiritual, and supports the body’s own intuitive ability to heal itself. As a form of energy therapy, REIKI promotes health and well-being. It does this by greatly boosting and balancing the natural force-field [responsible for life] within the body. It is a particularly effective modality for reducing stress. Stress is a killer, and over time it can develop into chronic anxiety that saps the body of its own vital sources predisposing it to dis-ease. Importantly, stress hampers its ability to heal and rejuvenate. REIKI allows the body to re-lax, releasing in the process stress related dis-eases and complaints. These include physical injury, emotional trauma, mental anxiety and spiritual crisis. Other complaints and illnesses REIKI treats include:

  • hyperactivity A.D.D.
  • A.D.H.D. in adults and children.
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Painful arthritis
  • Rheumatic aches and pains.

A REIKI treatment is always gentle. It confers on the client a general sense of well-being, joy and aliveness. The client feels “charged up!” The practitioner places their hands in certain positions over the client’s body to allow a transmission of life energy. This is not merely imagined but actual. Many report “bubbling sensations of life force streaming” through the body. The benefits and the effects of REIKI are cumulative and lasting. Being free from side-effects mean REIKI safely complements medical or other holistic procedures and therapies. It enhances and quickens results and is suitable for all ages, including troubled children and babies on whom it has a calming effect. Helping to boost the immune system also means all manner of illness and dis-ease can be treated with REIKI. Here are some more:

  • colds and flus
  • headaches
  • sprains and broken bones
  • chronic fatigue
  • immune system deficiency
  • symptoms of cancer

What happens during a Reiki Treatment

During a treatment the client remains fully clothed, as Reiki passes through clothing and even plaster casts. The client usually lies on a table. Reiki can also be given in a work environment whilst being seated. The Reiki practitioner places their hands gently, in a series of non-intrusive positions covering the client’s body. Each hand position is held for several minutes. The whole person is treated, not just isolated areas. Reiki does not involve massage or manipulation. It involves a gentle healing touch. Treatments can take an hour to an hour-and-a-half to two hours, depending on the client’s needs.

Four consecutive Reiki treatments

Having treatments every day over four consecutive days can be a very powerful way of receiving Reiki healing, as the energy is able to move deeper and deeper each day, often having quite profound healing results. The first treatment tends to be a really relaxing and transforming experience in its own right. On day two and three some really deep healing often starts to unfold and then day four can feel like a completing of the cycle.
